I am highly interested in investigating the neurobiological mechanisms of human behavior. That is why, in my current research, I combine different imaging methods to identify which neural systems are implicated in memory formation and consolidation. In particular, I investigate in which way the hippocampal and neocortical memory system contribute to memory formation and storage. Therefore, I am looking at their functional dynamics over the course of learning as well as at microstructural changes in brain tissue reflecting learning-induced plasticity. Plus, I investigate whether these memory systems differ in the quality of their memory representations using multivariate methods.
